earwigs!!! IN the house! Aargh!

This is the 5th earwig I find INSIDE THE HOUSE this week. I don't know if this is a coincidence (we do have alot of them in the yard, but with the intense heat, we haven't been too much in the yard recently so I doubt we've been tracking them in, at least not FIVE of them)
Sooo....are they nesting somewhere in the house??? I've found each one in a different spot, so where would the nest be? ANd, more importantly, how do I get rid of them????

We have them too, we find them most often in our basements or in damp/moist areas.

Someone once told me to not store anything on the ground in bathrooms/laundry/basement areas as they especially like the spaces underneath such places.

We get earwigs in our basement and sometimes the main floor. I hate them. I did a massive amount of online research on them a few years ago. They come in from the outdoors on flowers, garden produce, through cracks and just tip toeing in when you're not looking.
The good news is that they do not nest indoors so you can't get an infestation like with roaches. They also aren't dirty, nasty disease carriers.
Earwigs are simply creepy. They do like to eat fabric so they can potentially damage clothing, I suppose. Oh, and they don't crawl in your ears and eat your brains.
We keep ours at bay by keeping our grass cut, clearing leaves and debris from window wells, keeping laundry off the floor, that type of thing.
I also use a cleaning product by the Melaleuca company called Tough and Tender and they seem to dislike it. I'm not sure if it's the tea tree oil or some other ingredient that they don't like but it works. I spray it around our basement window sills and the thresh hold of our back door.
Hope this helps.
