I suppose we could look at it this way:

With the loss of Calvin, Andre, possibly Quinn, and all the other silly changes, we gained Lafayette. And hes worth 1000 CAlvins, thats for dang sure!

I remember back after watching season 2, and that cliff hanger had been a dead persons foot sticking out of andys car, of african american origin. And then I went to wikipedia and read about how Lafayette bites it in the begining of book 1. I thought, how can they get rid of that guy? HES BRAZILLIANT!!!!!!!! That scene with him and the Aids Burger was GENUIS!

And now we get Jesus too, which I just realized the other day who his facial expressions remind me of. Jonathon Ryes Meyers.

I was surpised they didnt make season 3s cliffhanger Eric running half nekked through the woods while Sookie drives home from Merlottes.

True, Calvin's whole bit doesn't add a ton to the story. Although who's hand is Sookie going to break?

Lafayette is so much better in the show. I do like what they've done with him.

I should stop complaining, I really do love them both!

Ooh he would be a good Quinn. I do NOT want them to change book Quinn. I always thought they'd have been good together. But Eric is still my choice (you know blah blah if I weren't married and had a choice of all these hot men)

I really hope season 4 sticks closer to the books than this season. I wasn't really impressed. I still watch, but it's not as good.

Yeah I kind of wish I hadn't read the books because I don't enjoy the show as much anymore. I just need to keep reminding myself to look at them as two completely different things.

I really liked the first half of the season but felt it kind of lost focus and got silly sometimes towards the end. I also hope season 4 is better!

am reading the books right now and feeling like they are really two different things, which is how i want to continue thinking of it since they are different :-) they are both good in their own ways, especially if i don't compare them :-)))

That was my prediction as well. They really could have used something a little bigger than than all the little ones they gave us.
