True Blood: Book and Show comparison lots of spoilers, no tags - Page 5

Yes in the books V is pretty much the same as any other illegal drug. And there are drainers (like the Rattrays from S1). It's mentioned it's a very hazardous occupation.

I don't really like the v storyline in the books. Maybe that's just because I really don't like the queen? I don't know.

I'm not sure how much of the fairies they'll bring into the show, but there are good and bad fairies. Although if Claudine's telling Sookie already that water didn't kill her parents, I do wonder how much (or if) Niall will be in the show.

Ok, Bill and Sookie back together??
Holly looks different from what I pictured (of course). I also don't care for how Calvin is portayed...or all of Hotshot, for that matter. I wonder if Jason will get bitten?
I was surprised Sookie didn't kill Debbie, but I guess keeping with the books, she should kill her next season. It does seem like they're setting it up for the amnesia storyline, which is great
I'm so over Bill!

I loved this:

Jessica: "No way!"

Bill: "Way."

Laughed out loud at that! Maybe he's starting to "get" her? Liked that he started teaching her how to be a vampire.

Are they bringing Holly in to start the Eric amnesia storyline? How the hell is Eric going to stay free of Russell? Maybe Alan Ball will have Russell be the catalyst in the amnesia story?

Loved the scene with Bill and Jessica!

I am really wondering if they are going to make Jason a panther, too. Was Ruby Jean forshadowing the witches coming? I think I heard Hallow has a significant role in S4. The fight between Sookie and Debbie was great! I can see that Sookie will kill her next season - I hope so!

That was funny! It surprised me that Bill showed so much wit.

Panthers? Who is a panther? I didn't read the books so maybe I have no business butting into this thread, I am just lusting for TB info.

The people in Hot Shot are werepanthers. That's why Calvin called Sam a "shifter" - he can tell what Sam is.

Oh, Caneel, read the books! They are so much better than the show!

Then you can come on here and make snarky comments like the rest of us!!

You will probably get totally addicted. When I finally started reading them, I could.not.stop! I just finished book 9, and as soon as I can get to the store, probably tomorrow, I will buy book 10......then I will not know what to do with myself when I'm done!

that is exactly why I am hestitant to start the books!

Over the past two years I had to force myself to switch to non-fiction books because I would get so into a good book that I would look up at the clock and be like "holy cow, it is 3 in the morning and I need to get up in 3 hours"

Read them read them read them! I don't really like one better than the other but definitely there are things I like better in the books and better on the show and I LOVE making the snarky comments when comparing them!!

I only started the whole Sookie Stackhouse experience about a year ago. I plowed through the books and then got the dvd's of season 1 which I watched last Christmas. Then got season 2 when it came out in May and have been watching season 3. So I've had a fairly steady dose of them. Once the show is over in a few weeks, though, I'll be starving until...probably next May when I assume the next book will come out!

(However, I just finished book one of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series and OMG - I have actually found another series I love just as much if not more!)

Ooh, I'll have to check that one out. Now that I'm on book 10, I'll need something to hold me over!

I certainly like a little book vs. movie (or TV show in this case) snark, that is for sure!

I am pushing to finish Omnivore's Dilema right now then on to these books!

They are! The love story part is a tad too sappy for me (I am so not a romantic!) and I roll my eyes but still - love the characters and storylines!

Holly was not how I pictured her either. And doesn't she only have one son in the books and not two kids? Weird that they would change something like that.
