What is in your pregnancy tea/herbal blends?

Thread Starter
Red raspberry leaf is always a popular one, and I found several threads about it when I did a quick search. I am a big fan of Fertilitea, as it helped me ovulate both with DD and this brand new pregnancy (I ovulate irregularly on my own.)

Today I ordered my first batch of herbs for pregnancy tea.

-RRL
-nettle
-alfalfa
-oatstraw
-rose hips

Also, I've been having some bad hives, so I ordered chamomile for topical application.

What are you herb-y mamas using?

I blend my own...

Currently the blend I have is:

RRL
nettles
lemon balm
oatstraw
spearmint
dandelion root

It's delicious!

love and thanks to Aviva Jill Romm!

I also add just a tiny bit of crushed lavender, because it makes all tea delicious.
oh and I think i put alfalfa in it as well.

nettles

rooibos tea is high in iron...so technically it is medicinal!

I do a lot of vanilla almond rooibos with lavender...delicious!

This is the recipe my midwife gave me:

Red Raspberry Leaf - 1/2 oz (uterine tonic)
Nettles - 1 oz (vitamins and minerals)
Alfalfa - 1 oz (vitamins and minerals)
Oatstraw- 1 oz (minerals and for calming)

Optional:
Lemon Balm - 2 oz (calming)
Passion Flower - 1 oz (calming)

To make:
Bring water to a boil
Remove water from heat and add herbs-
Use 1 Tablespoon of herbs for every 8 oz of water- can make up to 2 quarts at a time (2 quarts of water requires 8 T of herbs)
Cover and steep for 20 minutes.
Strain- can be drank warm or cold.

Drink 2-3 C a day
