Advice for streaming live to your TV?

I watch almost no TV at all, though I do like watching movies and some TV shows on Netflix (high quality stuff like Mad Men and The West Wing). I let DS watch a little bit of TV -- maybe an hour or two per week.
I still have cable left over from when XP lived in the house, but I'm moving and not getting cable at the new place. I will have high-speed internet.
I would really like to set up some kind of Netflix ready device. My laptop is getting a little older and it can get slow when it comes to video streaming, so I'd rather not go that route. It's looking like Roju might be one relatively inexpensive way to go. I though about getting a Wii console, but I don't play video games and I don't want DS to start anytime soon. Any advice on how to hook up my TV to the internets?

PS3 plus PlayOn works really really well. The PS3 is also the best bluray player currently on the market and works as a DVD player.

And you don't have to buy games. Your ds is young enough he won't necessarily realize that the system *could* play games, especially since he hasn't seen other video games.

The Wii is awesome, but pretty much only for gaming.
