NOLA mamas!

Hi- we are relocating to NOLA next month. I am originally from the area but haven't lived there in nearly 17 years!
Just have such a strong sense of mama community here in Los Angeles (local mama board, play groups, etc.) and want to try to find that in NOLA too.
Any leads on groups (play, nursery co-op and otherwise), any interest in being part of an local online mama board or any advice on moving, sage words, etc?

We have a newborn and a 21 month old toddler who was attending the local Waldorf school's toddler program and two cats. We cloth diaper, baby wear.

Anyway, can't wait to get down there and make new friends.

hi, welcome home! the group that was made up of mamas connected to mothering is not very active, but there are lots of granola and/or artsy moms/families in town. check out nola baby (online and in magazine form) and the big top on clio street (they have friday night music camps that are popular and fun - just google big top new orleans). there's the hill school which is waldorf as i recall and there's abeona house which i don't think is waldorf, but is rather granola. i'll try to think of more resources and post more later. you can also pm me if you have any questions.
