Why do people like Happy Heinys OS??

Agh! I have a HH OS cow-print - it drives me insane. I bought it when they first came out for my DD when she was still night-diapered. It leaked.

Now I try to use it on my little DS, and it's massively bulky on him, even though he's getting on for 17lbs, the insert doesn't work well with the snaps snapped up, and it's always a fight to get it stuffed. Oh, and it has leaked on him too.

I'm a fan of the HH sized diapers - but I can't get this silly thing to work. And yet it's highly rated on Diaper Pin - have they improved or something?

I have one HH one-size, and it leaked every time I used it for a long, long time. DD is 28 months now and only in diapers at night, but I used it last night because my Fuzzi Bunz have been leaking, and it didn't leak at all. I didn't even know she'd peed (she often stays dry at night) until I took it off her. I was pretty shocked. My DD has really skinny legs, so the elastic was just not tight enough around her legs until she got this big (she's only 24 lbs). Maybe yours have a similar problem?

Just from reading reviews and talking to people, I really think the fit of a particular brand is SO dependent on the build of the baby...some diapers that I just love leak constantly on other kids, and vice versa.

DD was very slim - sounds a bit like your DD. But DS has thunder thighs...

Who knows. I'll keep messing around with it because I want to make it work!

Some diapers don't work on some babies. HH didn't work on my first CD'd baby, and I never tried them with the next one. Muttaqin 3SR dipes didn't work on him, either - not at any stage. Diaper fit is so very particular!

I love them. We started using them when our daughter was two weeks old (we waited till the cord fell off) and we are still using them at 25 months. We've never had leak problems. The velcro isn't robust anymore but it does hold. The elastic is in great shape. They are my work horses. For a long time in the middle my favorite was Rumparooz but now they look like teeny tiny bikinis and the HH still cover her behind very well. Kid #2 will be arriving in a couple of weeks and I fully expect to get at least another year or so out of these diapers before the velcro finally bites the dust. Given that they are pretty reasonably priced I could not possibly ask for more out of a diaper.

I will say that I don't like their all snaps version. The snaps are too strong and tear the fabric.

Okay, so... questions for you -

- Are you using the insert that came with it? Mine is hourglass-shaped and I can't get it to fold over properly to stuff

- Does the fleece fold over properly on the inside on the smaller settings?

These are the problems I have. I actually used it last night (I figured if it's going to be bulky I may as well super-stuff it) and while it lasted all night, DS had horrible marks on his legs this morning.

I'm thinking I should sell it while it's still in good condition to someone who can actually figure out how to use the thing!

Fold over? It's shaped like an hourglass because it goes in flat. It is cut out in the center to make it easier to fit between kiddo's legs. Mine came with two inserts of different sizes. The smaller one was never a problem when the diaper was snapped up for a small baby and the large was sufficient by itself for a long time. Eventually I started using the large and small together with the diaper fully extended because after a long time she was peeing so prolifically.

Aha! Well, see, mine didn't come with two inserts - only one. So it's too big on the smallest snap setting (thus the "folding over").
