I'm new here as of this morning and this is my first time posting.
Yesterday (YESTERDAY!), my husband was offered -and accepted- a job post in Bogota, Columbia. He is with the Canadian Foreign Service (DFAIT - Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade). We will be leaving in 6-7 weeks!!
(insert panic)
We have three boys:
- aged 7 years (full vax'd except for chicken pox... ah, to be young and trusting of the medical industry again!
),
- 3 1/2 (only got his very first shots, I don't even remember what they were),
- 18 months (zero vaccinations)
As this is all so new, we haven't even met with our move advisor, so I don't know what their stance is on vaccinations. Whether they're recommended or required (for insurance purposes?).
We will be living in government staff quarters (very nice by the looks of it), bottled water will be paid for and delivered each week, we'll be homeschooling, but I we do plan to travel around the country as much as possible, not wasting such an amazing opportunity for our family.
Any advice? Reading material? Kind words telling me not to panic??
TIA, Amy
