I am not a $&@!!?$ tree! I find it extremely frustrating, particularly first thing in the morning, because he'll climb me and then start yanking and twisting my nipples. Does anyone have some brilliant way that i can convince himnot to climb me? Or even just some commiseration?

How do you deal with the constant climbing?

Keagan is doing the same thing here- only he's also climbing the furniture, baby gates, steps (!) really anything he can find, and it's currently an obsession. The only help I've found is to keep engaging him in tasks that ask him to stand, crawl over, climb things safely so he gets lots of practice. Last night I was up at 11 pm with a nine-month old who was absolutely fascinated by doing laps around the coffee table, knocking blocks to the floor so he could pick them up, then throwing himself at me to climb up into my lap under his own power. This morning I was woken by his leaping onto me from the middle of the bed before he jumped on his dad the same way.
Apparently, these are the connections his brain is making right now, so I want to give him ample opportunity to practice the skills. Admittedly, feeling like a trampoline isn't my favorite thing at 5am...

Personally, I try to contain the movement while nursing for my own sanity. I always sit in a chair and keep baby on my lap. As she moves around and trys to stand or hang from my shoulders. I move her back to my lap or unlatch. If she wants to continue nursing we settle back into our nursing position and continue. I remove the foot from my trachea, the finger from piercing my lower lip, the other hand from pinching more than an inch, the finger up my nose, etc. In the same manner you stop baby from pulling your hair when they're first learning how to grab things. You just remove their hand from your hair and keep them from doing it again. It's no big deal, they're just not going to do it, because it hurts! I'd keep the other nipple covered if they discovered those. Sorry, but I would not (do not) just put up with it.
