Paint color help!! Ideas needed!

Ok, I'm going to do my best to describe our home/rooms without posting pictures right now because our camera is on the mend from being mixed with pickle juice! Anyhow, I'm wanting to paint our living room/dining room area as well as our foyer. These are the descriptions/ideas I have:

For the living room, the decor is reds, greens, golds, dark brown/mahogany furniture, off white couch, silver accents, etc., Right now, the walls are painted your typical off white/cream flat paint. Another wall and under the chair rail in the dining room is painted a very, very pale army green, and it is also flat. I'm wanting to keep the two tone going with out buying any new decor except for maybe some pictures.
The cream color is just too much for the off white couch/chair that we have in there and I would like to find something to help them pop.

Maybe a darker cream and maybe a brown for the accent walls and under chair rails?

Now, on to the foyer. It is painted the same off white/cream flat paint. It is a separate area, but it also ties our living room, kitchen/breakfast/family room together. The family room is a very pretty pale yellow and so is the breakfast area. The kitchen, again, is the same flat, cream (this will be changed eventually, just not in budget right now). I was thinking of complementing that color with something a little darker or lighter than the pale yellow or maybe the opposite?

What do you all think? If pics are needed, then I can take them tonight and try my best to get the camera to function correctly. But for those that have good imaginations and can picture what I've said thus far, lend me your thoughts!!!
We're gonna be painting this weekend!

I love the chocolate color idea! (that is what we have purchased to do our dining room) One thing we are doing that will make a accent wall pop is we got a darker shade of brown (not dark just darker than the other walls ) and we are doing stripes bigger and smaller every other stripe will be different. They will be painted glossy or flat so they have a formal but interesting look. Hope that isn't confusing.

Have you brought home some color swatches? Without seeing the colors it is hard to say but anything in the "natural" color scheme will work well. Good luck and have fun! I love what some paint can do for a room!

Ya know, I thought about the stripe thing, too, but I need to convince DH. He thinks it's too much work - measuring, etc., But I think it would look great.
I'm going to look at swatches tomorrow at Home Depot.

I might find out it is too much work as well, lol we have a old house so I just hope I can make the stripes look straight with my walls

Have fun looking at colors, I think that is a hard job. But fun and worth it, might be easier since you already have a color scheme going, good luck!
