I need some hair coloring advice (I messed it up)

My hair is normally medium blond in back, and then pink/purple/blue/whatever up front.

Yesterday I tried to dye it all with one of the lightest color blonds available. While wet it was an awful light blue/gray/white color. Now that it's dry, it looks almost ok...but I can still see the hint of gray in there and it's bugging me.

Is it time for a professional? Can I buy another box of something (maybe the same color?) and fix this at home?

I've been bleaching my hair at home for most of my life, and never had this problem before.

Thanks.

I gotta tell you, I firmly believe in ceasing your right to color. I tend to go to purples and blues when the moment seizes me. I have medium brown hair and bleached it last time, then applied my unnatural color over it. Mistake. No matter how often I tried to color over it, or had others do it, the purple always came through. I had to cut it and start over. It's time for a professional. The only thing I use now is henna and I looooooove it.

I don't have much advice, only to say I've done the same thing! Mine turned out a really pretty lavender/gray!

You used an ash blonde dye, and your fried hair only picked up the "ash". I ended up dyeing mine back dark, but a "golden blonde" dye might fix it. It might also turn it green. I don't know. Good luck!

Call the manufacturer. They have a hot line for botched dye jobs.

When I messed up my color, I used something called "Color Oops" from the drugstore. It pulled out not only the awful Ronald McDonald red that was on my head, but also the dark brown semi permanent I'd been using regularly before that. It was awesome, but you have to follow the directions exactly and it smells really strong like an old-style perm. Definitely not NFL, but whatever

I've used something called Colorfix (got it from Amazon) after a horrible color incident and, while deginitely not NFL, it did help me recover my hair. My DS1 still talks about the time my hair was orange. (It was easier on my hair than the harsh bleach I used after the accidental burgundy incident in college.)
