MDC Weight-loss Club: Monday weigh-in (March 15th)

Good morning!

Half month already! It will be Spring next week-end!!! (but I'm looking at the snowflakes' slow dance right now)

Highest weight (not preggo): 168
Last week: 133
This morning: 130.5
Weight loss: 2.5
Total weight loss: 37.5

Baby step goal: was 130... next one is 125 which is also my original FINAL GOAL

Final goal: Euh... I'll keep the 125 but, in fact I don't know anymore I'm not dieting; I'm just eating well, avoiding junk (with little treats once in a while) and moving a little bit more - I figure that if I'm losing weight it's because my body is regulating itself after years of medication that altered my metabolism - so I can't really know when it will stop. I use to be 114 (even after one pregnancy) but it was long ago (13 years) and before I had my injuries and had to take lots of medication

I remember how I felt last year when I decided that it was enough and that I had to shake the pounds off... I wasn't really confident, couldn't beleive my body would react that well... I'm happy right now! I've learn to listen to my body for cues of hunger and satisfaction, I've learn to say "no thank you" to second serving (if not hungry anymore)! I still have days where I'm not listening well... but it's OK! I don't have to be perfect!

My plan this week: drinking water, taking my vitamins and rest... DS have Chicken Pox - I already had CP AND Shingles and I know it can be reactivated if I'm too tired...

Who's next? Come and share!

Good job! You are so close to your final goal!

Last week: 187 lbs
Current weight: 184 lbs
Total loss this week: 3 lb
Total loss since baby: 42 lbs
Total loss since September: 28 lbs
Total Loss since joining MDC Club on 2/9: 10 lbs
New mini-goal: 180 lbs
Larger goal: 175 lbs
Ultimate Dream: 170 lbs

As I get closer to my goals, I am not sure if I want to lose more or not, but I guess I will keep them the same until I get to them and then think about it!

Hope everyone had a good week. I was happy to have lost even with TWO pizza parties this weekend for baby birthdays!

Have a good week!

My DH's birthday was Friday. My MIL called to wish him a happy birthday and mentioned pics I had sent of DS's birthday. She says, "are you losing weight? because you really looked thinner in the pictures." : That hasn't happened in a looonnng time! I've decided to take a trip back home (TX) for the last week of April & first week of May. I would really like to reach the below 200 mark by then so I'm changing my goals a bit this week now that I have a concrete timeline.

Highest PP (Jan '03): 225
Start here (Jan '04): 215
Last week: 210
This week: 208
Mini-goal: 205
Going to TX Goal: 199

I'm doing pretty well about types of food I eat & portion control. So, this is what I'm going to do this week that was different from last week.
1) Treadmill Mon, Wed, Fri
2) Yoga Tues
3) If weather permits, take walk carrying DS in backpack on Thurs
4) Drink more water
5) Drink less soda (very, very hard for me)

I am just going to bask in my mini goal before I set the next one.
Woo hoo, you all are doing great!

I wanted to hit my next mini-goal by my birthday (tomorrow) but I don't think it will happen, and I don't really care! I'm eating well and getting exercise, and the weight is coming off, so I'm happy.

Started 11/10: 165
Last week: 140
This week: 140 or maybe a hair under
Mini-goal: 138
Final goal: 135-ish

I always say my final goal is 135-ish because I know that that is a weight where my body has been happy and balanced before. I don't know where my weight will settle this time -- I don't really know how I'll feel when I get to that point and I don't know whether my body will be done losing. My real goal in all of this is not to lose weight just for the sake of losing weight (or for vanity's sake -- why is it that people think if you are trying to lose weight that it's automatically from wanting to look a certain way? : Not that I am unhappy about fitting into some of my hip, smaller-sized clothing! ).

Anyway, I have been overweight, and lately verging on obese, since we moved to France, due to poor eating habits and lack of exercise. Those stemmed from being chronically depressed (undiagnosed) and under a ton of stress -- being overweight just added to those. Once I started feeling better mentally (therapy and meds), I hit that point of knowing that I needed to clean up my eating. I've learned a LOT about nutrition and healthful eating in the last few years, and I knew I needed to change my eating habits for good in order to not end up with diabetes, heart disease, etc. I started out with a structured "diet" to get myself going -- the South Beach Diet, because it closely matched what I already knew about nutrition -- but now I simply apply what I know about healthful eating to the choices I make. So I'm not really on a "diet" anymore, just eating the way I plan to continue eating for a very long time. I eat delicious foods (including chocolate every day ), I'm never hungry between meals, I don't deprive myself (but I eat some things in moderation that I previously used to gorge on), I have lots of energy and I feel great!

Hmmm, I didn't mean to go on and on, guess I just get excited about eating well and the weight loss that has come with that! It's so great to be part of a group of women who are also getting fitter, leaner and healthier along with me. Keep up the great work, everyone!

I'm back after a brief hiatus.

Sort of still trying to follow Weight Watchers, but kind of rebelling against it. I abhor writing points down every time I eat something. Pushes all of my rebellion buttons.

The big news is I joined the Y yesterday, which I think is going to be my break through as I continue to watch what I eat. I worked out yesterday and today and I feel great. I weighed myself for the first time in a month today and found I have not put the weight (5 pounds) I initially lost with WW back on!

So,

I started at 153.8
I'm 148 now
My goal is 140 (135 if the weight loss faeries are on my side!

Eight more stubborn pounds to go and I am on my way back to the gym in the morning. They have child care and I can take 2 kick boxing classes a week too -which I have heard really melts fat away. They gave me a big price break so I can do this.

I am looking forward to being proud to wear a swimsuit!!

Congratulations fellow losers, especially Softmama for reaching your mini goal!!

I am making good progress. I'm doing SBD, which I like and feel good on... lots of veggies, fish, legumes, etc. Also started walking every day.

Height: 5'7"
Normal weight for me: 150
Weight pre-partum: 170 (dumb dumb dumb)
Weight 2 weeks post-partum: 218

Weight last week: 190
Weight this week: 188
Mini goal: 178.5 (don't ask... I have digital scale issues )

Happy Monday!

Finally a loss again! So last week I had gained a pound and this week I lost 2lbs. I did drink lots more water over the weekend and I have noticed that makes a HUGE difference. I swear my flab shrinks a bit with a glass of water. I just forget to drink because I'm not good at hearing my body's cries for water. :

Hopefully I can meet my babystep goal next week. Deja vu... I remember saying that two weeks ago! :LOL

I constantly feel like I'm about to ovulate again, so I'm pretty sure my fertility is about to return although I'm in now hurry for that.

5'2"
Start weight: 154lbs
Last week: 149
This week: 147
Weight-loss this week: 2lb
Total weight-loss since Christmas: 7lbs

Babystep goal: 145lbs

Final goal: 125-135lbs (wherever my weight lands with exercise and a decently healthy diet)

Hello again!

Congrats all who have been successful this week and chin up to those who didn't see the scale move.

Post Partum plateau: 195 lbs
Weight last three weeks: 175lbs
Today: 174lbs
Total loss: 21 lbs

I lose and gain weight so easily so I'm crossing my fingers that it will stick. I may have lost more but have some personal issues right now and spent alot of time depressed this week so basically I mostly slept and ate :-( I think stress and depression really effect your food metabolism so I really need to get to the root of these issues.

Goal: 145 - 155lbs

Since I have hit a plateau I'm realizing I will have to change more in my lifestlye to lose more. Funny, last week I only exercised once and ate lots of sugar (tempting gifts from my church). But ate so on the go that I never sat down for a real meal, only snacked when my tummy started growling, hmmmm. I still want to nurse for another year but I know as soon as DD stops nursing I will lose another 5 lbs so I will have to keep that in mind for my long term goal (based on history with my other 3 kids).

Hi everyone!

Here are my Stats:

Last week: 148
This week: 147

Pre-pregnancy weight: 135
Mini goal: 140

Ultimate goal: 128

Despite cheese cake, pizza, and fried foods I have lost 1lb. The weight seems to be crawling off in slow motion. I did, however, exercise a lot more this week, and take my vitamins, and drink more water. Maybe that helped. Oh, I do crunches every day too. When I get pregnant again I want to have a strong back!

My goal for this week is to continue to walk daily, do my crunches, take my vitamins and drink more water. I will not buy any more sweets. I will take a small amount of choclate daily for it's antioxidant properties . Cutting out caffiene is not an option, as I am a tad sleep deprived these days.

Everyone is doing great. Even those who come in to report they haven't lost, that's progress, because when I stopped dieting I couldn't even come in ehre and face reality!

Can O Beans you are getting close!! You'll be graduating soon!

Tea and Coffee drinkers, two tips

1. Trader Joe's makes FAT FREE half and half - and when you stir it into your hot drink, you can't tell the difference!

2. I have switched to nonfat milk in my morning tea - which isn't that great in my coffeem but if you have the coffee place steam the nonfat milk like capuccino it makesa huge difference!

Keep up the good work!!!

Starting weight 212 (hehe I was at the end of my pg but I count it as my start)

My Height: 5' 0"
Starting weight (1/29/04): 212
Weight when I decided it was time (2/23): 186
Current weight: (3/1/04):183
Total loss post baby: 29 (13 pounds to go of baby weight!!)

Mini goal: 170 by the end of April 04
Long Range goal: 130 (or whenever I feel best )
Clothing Goal: around an 8 (I'm currently a 16)

I did ok on my weekly goals. I developed mastitis mid week. So, I didn't get much, if any, exercise in.

I set a goal for this week of NO TAKEOUT Yesterday, I FAILED We had takeout twice in 1 day!!

So today I am starting my goal week over. :

I'm also wondering how much of the baby weight I have left is my boobs. Anyone know of a weigh to find out besides finding a scale to weigh them on?? I figure they are at least 4-5 pounds each. They feel as heavy as the cat and he weighs about 6 pounds.

My goals this week: Water and exercise.

Oh yeah, I have been doing these calf stretches with our rubberbands. And I'm noticing a difference!! My calves are looking thinner and more shapely!!

That's why I'm being pretty general on my goals. My dd weaned when I was 2mo pg with ds, but I started losing weight... not sure if it was the pg (I continued to lose even after dd weaned herself), her gradual weaning or what. So I won't be surprised if I hang onto 5lb of baby/boob weight. My breast are denser now I think...

Here I am... nursed dd for 20 months and ds for 10 months so far and I'm a whopping 36C. :LOL They'll shrink back to a 34/36B after he weans most likely (they did last time even though I was preggers!). They feel heavier for sure though!
