Linen ring sling

I am due in March and am looking for a nice ring sling. I have a Maya, but am looking for something more lightweight for the hot Tennessee summers. Is the Sakura Bloom Linen sling hot? Are there any gauze ring slings out there?

Congratulations!
I'm not familiar with it but it's probably lovely. Make sure you read some reviews. I tested a different manufacturer's prototype linen sling once and it would not slide through the rings.

I slung a newborn through a hot muggy Florida summer and cotton was pretty light and breezy. Still, linen does sound delicious. Never had the luxury! But a water sling is never a bad idea, especially if you have an older sibling.

I bought a length of gauze at the fabric store and made two slings out of it (cut lengthwise). They have been my very favorite slings ever
Good rings can be purchased at slingrings.com

I made my own linen ring sling like the Sakura Bloom for $15. It was my favorite during the summer, very breezy. They sell some dreamy soft medium weight linens.

I'm in Houston and have been really enjoying my single-layer linen slings from Comfy Joey (which I also think are really nice looking). I thought my double-layer Sakura Bloom was gorgeous and wonderful, but the CJ shoulder happens to work better for us. You can also get linen slings from Sleeping Baby Productions...great deals there, and a comfy shoulder style, too.

I don't know of any gauze slings offhand, but I agree they would not be hard to find material for... don't forget to use slingrings.com if you buy rings!

I have a linen RS from Sleeping Baby. I really like it for things like short shopping trips (I prefer a MT over a RS for longer use), and it's reasonably cool. I will say that in my experience the relative hotness of one carrier over another has more to do with how much fabric their is and how much the baby is pressed up against you and not as much to do with the composition of the fabric - as long as you're using breathable/natural fibers.

I have a linen/tincel blend sling that I really like for the heat. I don't really notice being any more hot it in compared to just holding William.

I have the single layer Sakura Bloom and it is fine, heat wise. I have wider shoulders and am plus sized, so I find the shoulder style (gathered) v. comfy, but i could see that they would swamp a petite mama.
