heart pounding

I'm about 4 weeks along and I've been having heart palps as well as feeling my heart pound in my throat, ears and chest especially at night. The heart palps are "normal" for me but the heart pounding is unusual. I had heart pounding with DD in my last month of pregnancy but this is so early to be having it right? Also the other day I was at a baseball game and it was hot I took DD up the stairs and I felt like I had just ran a mile my heart was beating so fast!!! I'm out of state till Aug 4th so I don't have a HCP right now but I'm starting to worry about this.

I have low blood pressure and deal with this when I have not had enough sodium or water recently.

Do you know what your blood pressure is like?

I had that with my ds, but it wasn't until I was 6 months or so. With my son it was so bad that I had to see a cardiologist for an echocardiogram. With my dd, I had it, but very mild. There was a night and day difference in my diet between pregnancies (whole foods with my dd) and I salted to taste with celtic sea salt.

Are you getting enough magnesium? If you take a cal/mag supplement, that should help. If you also have muscle cramps, then that would be another piece to the puzzle.

I hope others are more helpful than me!

also, water. It happens to me when I am dehydrated. Aim for 96+ oz a day when pregnant.

Hope you feel better soon!

Hmmmm sodium could be an issue I guess. I haven't had my BP checked recently. It's scary!

It's getting pretty bad that I'm wondering maybe I do need an EKG. My diet is good organic whole foods and gluten free I had my RBC mag checked and it was in good range however I do still do my mag oil. I wonder what's a good way to check calcium?? Maybe I need to drink more raw milk?? I do cheese a few times a week and greens for calcium. I have no muscle cramps YET

Thanks for the ideas ladies. It makes me feel better that's it's happened to some of you because it really freaks me out!!! If you think of anything else please let me know!!!!

I hadn't thought of the mineral connection...I get them when my hormones surge, so when I'm ovulating and premenstrually, when not pg. I had them a lot earlier on with this pregnancy when hormones were flooding my body and I was adjusting. My midwife said hormones can do it, too.

What about your iron/hemoglobin levels? If your levels are low, your heart has to work that much harder to get oxygen to your cells. Might be worth checking.

You mamas are so smart! I had blood work done end of June and my all my iron levels looked good. Maybe it is hormones...I hope so anyway
