Um, I signed up a long time ago, when my little brother was still a baby. He's six now and I've been away from my parents for a while (I stuck around through college to be there for him - my mom is a nightmare).
I've always been a little "out there" as far as my family is concerned. Hanging my laundry out to dry is weird for most of them.
My boyfriend and I are currently expecting our first child - very much wanted, but a complete surprise as to how easy they were to conceive. I'm due in late August/early September and just remembered you guys!
I got yet another, "a homebirth? Are you crazy?" the other day and thought to myself, "man, I wish there was someplace where people understood where I'm coming from." Then I was walking through the magazine racks at the bookstore this morning and was about to walk right by the "baby" section when Mothering caught my eye. I snatched it right up and came here as soon as I got home, although it took me a while to remember my sign-on.
I actually found you guys the first time when the whole The View/nurse-in thing was going on and ended up lurking for quite sometime until (for some reason) I stopped coming. I really wish I hadn't.
Anyway, I'm so happy to finally be around people who (hopefully) won't think I'm crazy.
