waterbirth tub question...

this may be obvious but I can't figure it out...how do you get the gross water out of the tub afterwards?? If you've got a big tub in your living room or something what do you do? I imagine scooping it out and taking a million trips to the bathroom isn't the best solution...

They sell pumps specifically for this purpose but they are on the pricy side. If you have a midwife they may have one they can bring.

There was a thread about this very recently--see if you can find it! We just siphoned it out with a hose (the same RV hose I used to fill it), out the door into the garden. Makes for super fertile soil!

Many folks buy or borrow a pump, but we didn't find it necessary. We had a fishy pool, FTR.

Funny, I have no idea. The midwives and my husband did it, while I was resting with the baby. Hope for the same for you!
