Short Luteal Phase/PMS Symptoms Early

I have not been charting but am taking opk's at the recommendation of my doctor. I had low progesterone a few years ago and we assume this may still be the same since I am unable to tolerate the progesterone cream. I am taking vitex instead.

My luteal phases appear to be 6-8 days according to the opk (AF 8 days after positive opk) and usually a 24 day cycle. The odd thing is that pms symptoms are coming a week before I get a positive ovulation test. What could be causing this?

I would start charting in the first place and maybe get some baseline testing to see where you are at.

I started out with OPKs only, too, and they are helpful, but I find that I am more accurate about ovulation day when I do everything--temping, cervical fluid, cervical position, and OPKs. It might be really helpful to go ahead and add in temping--just my thoughts!

Good luck.

I totally agree with previous posters about charting, it really helped me get a clear picture of how my body timed everything. I also had a short luteal phase due to a progesterone deficiency and was able to take progesterone orally, have you tried that?
