All about DD (Kinsley)Thread

I'm Finally going to start a thread about DD. We are having some issues and I need some guidance on where to start with her. She turned 2 in June for those who don't know her age.

History:
Has had 2 colds.
had abx as a newborn for 3 days in hospital. She has a high white blood cell count for some reason. Breast fed for almost 19 months.
Normally we dealt with constipation for months. Gave her enzymes in April caused diarrhea 3 days later she had a fever then mainly loose stools since then.

Blood work done in March:
High T4 1.6
potassium high 5.7
BUN/CREAT ratio high 36.7
cholesterol high 129 but not to worried about that.
I'll update when she gets some labs done again here pretty soon.

Symptoms:
Low frenulum between front top teeth.
Decay on front 4 teeth(hasn't been getting worse)seemed to stop when I stopped nursing
2 spots on legs of Tinea versicolor but is going away.
fast growing nails but thin
Slow growing toe nails and her nails look flat
She's petite 33 inches and about 26 pounds
Wakes up with her under eyes puffy
Under eyes sometimes look bruised and red. It looks like she has increased blood flow in that area as I can see her veins there too.
Newest symptom is she's getting little red dots under her eyes and the past few days she's had the same red bumps around her mouth, some on nose and cheeks.
Her bowels are usually loose with an occasional formed poop. She also gets constipated about once every 2 weeks for about 2 days. Her bowels smell awful.
Lately has been night waking more wanting to snuggle and hold hands. She has to be right near me If she wakes up.
She has not been her usual happy self the past few weeks. She's been more cranky and clingy. I think she's cutting her 2 yr molars so that could be the reason for that.

Supps:
FCLO daily
Thornes trace mineral half cap daily
Natural calm when she will drink it
Vit C madre C when she will drink it
cell salts 3x day bioplasma and silica
Biotin when I remember
She's been GF for 7 weeks now but I haven't noticed a change in anything.
Sorry for the novel ladies. I can't wait to hear your input!

What, no other replies?

Is she getting probiotics? How is she with dairy, eggs, soy, corn?

About not seeing a difference from being off gluten, I didn't either becaused it was so gradual. But being off it for many months, when I had it again, I really felt awful. That is how you may notice a diference.

Are you keeping a food journal? If things like constipation are sporadic, the food journal can be really helpful. When it's constant, it's something they're more than likely getting every day.
Are you still nursing?

I think she said she weaned at 19 mos.

I second the probiotics and food journaling or kinesiology for guidance. Have you read Dr. Bock's Healing the New CHildhood Epidemics? She may still have other intolerances--the under eye stuff tends to point towards those.

Whew thanks for the replies I was getting worried No on the probiotics. I need to get those asap! What kind id good for a 2 year old? Would neonate by pharmax still be good for a toddler? Eggs I think are an issue but not sure on the others. It's seems so intimidating to eliminate so many foods What about gluten probably prepared you know like real sourdough bread??

No we aren't doing a food journal but I feel like her bowels are rarely "normal". If her bowels are often loose or she's constipation does that mean she isn't absorbing nutrients well?? No we finished nursing at 19 mos.

Can you explain how/why kinesiology would be helpful? That book sounds great, has it been a great reference to you?

Properly prepared sourdough is the only way I eat it and still had issues. I have added in small amounts spelt and am ok if I don't overdo it. I think that wheat is a big no no for me over gluten.

Yes, probiotics atre very important especially since dd isn't nursing anymore. I don't know about suplmental ones, but I use water kefir.

Your dd sounds not too bad off as many of these all about me threads are crazy with symptoms. So her teeth are alright now? How is her folate and protein intake (thinking about her nails)?

Ya DD isn't in terrible shape but I really want to get a handle on her minor symptoms under control. However, I don't see her poop and under eyes as minor. It makes me so sad to see her eyes looking that way and I really want to fix it. her teeth don't seem to be getting any worse at all. *fingers crossed* For folate we eat beans a few times a week but she doesn't do many greens. Kale simmered but I think that kills the folate no? I think she's not breaking down protein well. I'm thinking alot of our issues are malabsorption....uhhhh seems so hard to fix too!
