RRL and red clover. X-posted in TTC.

I picked some red raspberry leaves and red clover blossoms today. I am TTC. Does anybody know the best way to make an infusion and how much to drink a day?

An infusion is about a cup of herb to a quart of water, covered and steeped overnight.

RRL sometimes gets really bitter in infusion form, but I hear that if you don't use fully boiling water, the bitterness reduces.

Enjoy! You can add some peppermint if you need a taste improvement.

RRL infusion really impacted my pregnancy, I think. I had a very short labor, basically only experienced the active part of labor. I drank RRL infusion throughout the pregnancy, and was drinking a quart a day in the week leading up to labor. I also did nettle infusions, at about the same rate.

I would drink about two cups a day to start.

Oh, also, I did shorter soak times for my RRL infusion, to reduce the bitterness. I would do 2-4 hours, I think. But see how the non-boiling water trick works, first.

And you can get quart canning jars at the grocery store. They work great for infusions. Strain through a tea strainer like this, which fits perfectly in the mouth of a quart jar.
