Is this a good long-term thyroid treatment or will I die just like my doctor said?

I just moved to the area and had my first doctor's visit here. I told her I have a thyroid condition that is most likely Grave's disease based on past blood work but have not been feeling/having any symptoms after I took a natural based approach after only being offered Synthroid last year. I take a Pure One'n'Only vitamin daily, 2-3 drops of Lugol's solution either orally or I just massage it over my thyroid, coconut oil in our food or again massage it in, and royal jelly in my eye that's slightly bulging. I know its bad but sometimes I'll go 2-3 days without my supplements and I'll feel slightly poopy but I really do great with this when I do take everything. I used to have high blood pressure and heart rate and it has gone down a lot, my eye looks normal, I don't feel nearly as tired, and my thyroid isn't swollen. She told me to take Propanol for my heart rate but wouldn't that lower my normal blood pressure? Should I take it? I notice my heart rate goes fast when I'm at the doctor's because I expect the fight and the condescending tones - which I have so far always gotten. I'm looking for a naturopath right now but they are very rare in my area. I don't even know how to begin treating myself for adrenal fatigue. Does it get better by itself if my thyroid gets healthy? I'm just doubting myself after hearing repeatedly that I'll die if I continue on the natural route. Should I just go on Armour or Naturthroid?

Should I post this in the thyroid thread? I thought it was a lot more personal and warranted its on post and I get lost in that huge thread!

ETA: I'm scheduled for more blood work and an ultrasound. I could've sworn I read that an ultrasound harm my thyroid. Should I do that and/or ask for a biopsy?

ETA2: I didn't think I should add this originally but will give it a shot. A naturopath I e-mailed said she will perform knesiology to see what muscles need priority in treating and also will have me eat for my blood type. Does anyone find that this helps? I'm mostly and sort of exclusively concerned about my thyroid and adrenals right now.

The thyroid and adrenals are interconnected. If the thyroid is over stimulated or running in hyper mode, it will also over stimulate the adrenals. You probably need to work on both glands at the same time. There are supplements you can take to help the adrenals. I took 500 mg pantothenic acid at bedtime. I also took lots of vitamin C, spread throughout the day. A good B complex also helps deal with stress. There are targeted supplements (professional formulas) that can help support the adrenals. (For example, Integrative Therapeutics Cortisol Manager) If you take any supplemental thyroid hormones, it will stimulate the adrenals. Not sure why you'd want to take extra thyroid hormone when you have Graves. I'm not sure what else you'd do naturally to treat Graves. I'm *not* a fan of soy and phytoestrogens, but you may look into those. I know that soy causes circulating thyroid levels to go lower, but it's also goiterogenic. There may be herbs you could look into, I know some of them can lower thyroid levels, but I can't recall which ones off the top of my head right now. That might be a better choice than soy.

I'm not sure you need to eat for your blood type. I've found that to be only a very rough estimate at a diet compatible for me. There are lots of exceptions to that diet that work/don't work for me.

I found that getting off the foods that I'm sensitive to has been a huge help to healing my adrenals.

I don't think an ultrasound will harm your thyroid. However, a radioactive scan can cause damage.

ETA: Getting off all caffeine helps both glands.
