Another SSC thread.. need help with specific points!

Need advice from SSC experts!

We currently have a babyhawk, that was mainly going to be DH's carrier since he will not learn to use the ring sling. But now he is just frustrated with the straps, so I want to sell our BH and get a SSC. We are thinking Oh Snap, Beco, Boba, or Ergo, but I'm open to any wonderful suggestion some helpful Mama may have for me

I'm nervous about buying one without trying one out though! Here is our situation:

My main issue with the BH, is when I do a back carry, it digs into my armpits and sometimes leaves marks. So I'm pretty leary of a SSC doing that, and it makes me wonder if the Oh Snap would do the same.

DS is a HUGE baby. He is very tall and very heavy, at 7.5 mo, he is almost 30 Ibs, and is wearing 24 mo size clothing due to his height.

DS is also a leaner. I worry our BH MT is too short for him when he really leans out. I can get some extra lenght by tying non-apron style and I feel safer that way, but then it hurts my low back.

DH & I are also very tall people. I am 6 ft, DH is 6'4". We are both pretty lean.

DH & I both have low back issues, so I'd really like one that is supportive in that area.

What would be the best SSC to help us out with this? TYIA Mamas!!

Sorry I can't compare all those carriers, but I have experience with the Ergo, and although it is not perfect, I am impressed that it really distributes the weight on the hips, unlike my wrap and mei tai, which put the weight all the on the upper back and shoulders. One drawback is that the baby sits lower, so he can't see over your shoulders as in a high back carry, but since yours is very tall, maybe this won't be as much of an issue? from the pics I have seen of the Beco and similar carriers, they all keep the baby's face lower down than a mei tai.

I would look in to the calyx or boba.
