baby wants to nurse when in the wrap

My DD now 4 weeks will put up with the sleepy wrap only for so long before she freaks out wanting to nurse. If I am very active (walking a lot it seems-like shopping but I can't browse in a spot for long) she will settle and sleep, but it doesn't seem to work very well for doing things around the house. She will get quite frantic with her pecking before she starts to cry! I have tried to put her in right after nursing but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

Is she too young to wear forwards? Or what else can I do?

Nurse her in the wrap! Just loosen it a bit (probably easier with a woven), and she will be at the right level.

You should come on our bwing walks (every Wednesday), there were at least 2-3 mamas walking and nursing babes in wraps.

We (I'm one of the leaders for the Edmonton BWing group) never recommend forward facing carries. I have been back carrying DS in a woven wrap since he was 2 weeks old; that may be a good solution for you.

At that age, they just want to nurse a lot - their tummies are so small, they need to re-fuel a lot. It does get easier, I promise!

I would nurse her in the wrap or maybe try back carries if you have a woven.
I would bet she is hungry often though at that age.
I would also try to go to the BW meeting and like Kelly said don't put her forward.

even if you just leave her nursing the whole time (as long as she latches ok) it will build your supply hun

my baby wont go in that position in the wrap anymore =( enjoy it while you can!

btw yes i think shes too young for a front position. they have to have some head control...

That is one of the reasons babywearing in the early days/weeks/months rocks so much! You can nurse on the go and get things done! So as the others have said, just nurse her.

I can't figure out how to nurse her?
I don't know if it's the size of her or the size of my breasts, I would have to wear her biggest part (the butt of the frog) around my pelvis I think for her to be able to latch on without me holding my breast up for her... she is tall and my breasts are big and hang somewhat low.
What kind of technique should I try? I've only found a video for slinging her with my wrap in order to nurse her and the point of the wrap is to not have to sling her!

syd'smom: I might look into the babywearing group! how do I find it do you guys post somewhere? I remember seeing notices...

I have a video on youtube.com on how to nurse in a wrap. I'm not sure if I can link to it here, but if you do "nurse in woven wrap" in youtube.com it should come up.
