How often does your family have desserts, and what kind do you typically have?
Very rarely. It's usually around bdays when we have leftover cake.

During heat waves we might eat homemade ice cream every night. Otherwise we might eat it once or twice a month. We always serve dessert when i cook dinner for company.

oh yum, homemade ice cream! we have fruit for dessert (if you can call it dessert) for a treat dessert we buy Greek style vanilla yogurt and add raspberries or whatever fruit we have, I do makea pie or two every month and a couple of fruit crisps throughout the month.

sometimes I take a big chocolate bar and break it in peices and put it in the middle of the table (usually we have port with it)

We eat it too often because I like to bake, but I do try to control myself, so sometimes it's as often as 2-3 times a week. More often I'll bake something every couple of weeks. In the summer I bake much less because of the heat, and we eat fresh fruit as dessert, often twice a day.

I'm a baker so we have dessert pretty often.

We eat dessert pretty often, but it's generally a serving of fresh fruit after a meal. Ice cream and cake are on birthdays only.

usually just around birthdays, and we prefer homemade ice cream and fresh fruit or a fruit crumble.

We do a dessert once a week. A planned dessert that is. Last week it was peach cobbler, this week it will be cake. During the rest of the week we do fruit, pretzels or tortilla chips for snack after dinner. We love dessert but don;t want to eat it too often for many reasons, so we recently came up with the once a week plan!

Not too often. I almost never buy ice cream (except if it's requested for b-day parties), but I do make brownies, cookies, muffins, etc. on occasion. I'd say once a week to every other week we have an official dessert after dinner. Otherwise, the kids might have a piece of fruit or yogurt or similar if they want something sweet for an after dinner snack.

We have a dessert probably a couple times a week. But it's usually after lunch, not dinner.

I like to bake, so it's sometimes cupcakes or cookies or cake, or we like ice cream or popsicles. Occasionally we'll have fresh fruit and whipped cream. I don't feel too bad about eating homemade sweets.

Every single day. I thought most people did the same.

Anyway, while I love to bake, I don't get the time to do it as much as I used to. So most nights we just have something simple like a little dark chocolate. My daughter has been loving popsicles lately too.

I don't know. not often. a couple crisps a year (often made with less than 1/2 a c. of sugar plus fresh fruit), maybe a pie or two, a peice of leftover birthday cake, homemade ice cream occasionally in the summer. if we go out to dinner with my parents, or over to someone's house we'll eat it. I'd say... 1-4 times every two months?

we do eat "dessert" more often, which is usually unsweetened cream with or without fruit. sometimes with raisins or a smidge of honey as a treat but that's rare. or sometimes it's pb and coconut oil and raisins.

Subbing

Desserts are favorite subject amongst DH & DC! I should make more yummies for them...

Most nights we have fruit, either berries or peaches etc in unsweetened cream, or maybe dipped in creamcheese whipped with cream and vanilla. Also, we're big fans of a square or two of super dark (85%) chocolate. Even the toddlers love it.

I always make something for dessert when we entertain, and we like to entertain often. (More during the winter.) My desserts are always low sugar and grain free, but also always gobbled up, so they must be good!

Not often. I don't ever really make a dedicated dessert. Sometimes I'll have made cookies and I'll take one, or offer them after dinner.

If anyone is interested though, there's a Creamy Brown Rice pudding recipe on allrecipes. I made it recently, it makes a slightly healthier rice pudding, but still delicious.

I eat sweets everyday, although not always with dinner. My (& usually DP, but not as often) dessert usually gets eaten after DS goes to bed, not right after dinner. It's usually ice cream (store-bought) or something I've baked. I love to bake & whenever I get a craving for something, I just go ahead & make it. And, since you can't make just 1 serving, we usually get to eat it for a couple days!
I let DS have homemade stuff sometimes, but not as often as I eat it! He only gets some if I decide to eat it before he goes to bed.
