My dh took the boys to their annual checkups without me since the appts were made in advance and I was NEWLY postpartum.. anyway, our ped wants the kids on vitamins with vit D. Note our northern location..
Anyway, MY doc wanted me on 50,000 units per week- but it was a script one and I wasn't comfortable with a once a week vitamin, so I am taking around 3,000 a day instead (non script).. but I don't know how many kids are supposed to get for northern climates and dh didn't know to ask..
So I am looking for a good kids vitamin that includes d3.. I went to the natural foods store and got multisaurus brand ones that the kids said tasted decent (chewable) that included d3, but the recommended dosage was for 2-4 year olds and didn't say how many vitamins to give to older kids.. my kids are 5, 6, 7, and 12.. I figured the 12 year old could probably take 2 or 3 a day but like I said, the label didn't have those instructions..
I also found some lemon flavored vitamins for kids that were JUST D3, (I can't recall the name) but I would prefer the vitamins be a multi vitamin instead of doing a multi and adding a separate d3..
so what should I look for? I picked up a different brand yesterday but they said it didn't taste good, and that kind of has to be a requirement..
so
D3 (unit amount?)
multivitamin
ages 5-12
tastes good
