Liability Question (any lawyers in the forum?)

So, I'm watching True Beauty on Hulu...when the contestants sign up they think they're competing in some beauty competition (season 2 is The Face of Vegas) when they're really being judged on their inner beauty.

My question is: Don't they have to tell them these things when they're filling out paperwork to be on the show? Are they allowed to not tell them that they're really on True Beauty and going to be on hidden camera all.the.time? I would think that would be a liability issue or something...

How does that work?

I'm not a lawyer ... just thought that was an interesting question.

They probably do, in words smaller and paragraphs lengthier than this.

I bet they sign something saying the show has the right to video tape them whenever, where ever, change the content or portray them in any way they see fit.

People want to be on TV. They want their moment of fame. They'll sign anything.

But they don't have to tell them the name of the show?

I'm sure they tell them they reserve the right to name it whatever they want.

I think they must know that they are going to be taped. I mean, it's a reality show.
And they weren't just looking for inner beauty, they were looking for both inner and outer beauty.
