delay or something more serious

My son is 15 1/2 months old can only say "mum mum", sometimes "da da". He doesn't point, but he does reach for his sippy cup, toy, or for us to pick him up. He isn't waving or clapping. I work with him everyday on clapping. Today he did a side wave with his fingers, but I do not think he knew what he was doing. He is very sociable. When we have company he likes to grab their attention by standing in front of them. He will also climb on their lap or climb on the sofa to sit by them. He likes to spin the wheels of the stroller. He doesn't respond to his name all the time, esp. when playing or concentrating on something. He likes to flip through books and is starting to point at some things. He doesn't bring anything to us to show what he has. He is not allergic to anything, that I know of. He is an only child. I do take him to play-dates and he will interact with the other adults and run/chase the other kids. He will mock the other kids sometimes. He doesn't smile when we smile at him, we have to do something to make him smile or laugh, like peek a boo. He doesn't watch TV that much, maybe 1/2 to 1 hr. He has been walking since 13 months old. He knows when he puts his socks/shoes on to lift his foot and he knows it is bye bye time. He tries to put the key in the door and he knows when the doorbell rings that someone is at the door. He can walk down the stairs while holding his hand, can crawl up the stairs by himself. He has a pop up toy and he can push the circle, we are working on the other buttons. He can put shapes in the correct hole as long as I cover the other holes up. Even though sometimes he puts the shape the wrong way, he hasn't figured out to turn the shape another way yet. He is trying to get the shapes in himself at times. He can take the shapes out and in the bucket. He can stack one on top of the other even though the 2nd shape isn't standing correct. He will try to add a 3rd shape but of course it will fall because the 2nd shape isn't on correctly. He makes eye contact sometimes, not all the time. Anyone else have anything similar. I called early intervention for an appointment but have not heard from the case worker yet for an appointment. Sorry so long, but I wanted to give as much detail as I can.

This is posted in the wrong section! You'd get better response if you copy and paste it into the Life With a Babe section.

Maybe a mod can move it?
