Sugar Substitute...

Thread Starter
I had gastric bypass surgery in 2006 and any type of sugary drink makes me puke for days. Not pleasant. I became a major diet-coke-head but since my kids, I've moved way away from fake foods.

I drink mostly juice or water but each morning I have my 1 cup of iced coffee with 2 equals. I'd really REALLY hate to give that up, but I hate the thougth of that fake sugar while preggo.

I've tried agave and it makes me puke as hard as regular sugar. Any other thoughts? I'm not "manly" enough for black coffee...

You could try stevia. I have developed gestational diabetes and have learned to drink my coffee unsweetened, which I NEVER thought I'd be able to do.

+1 for stevia. My new favorite drink atm is half a lime squeezed into a 1/2 litre of water and about 5-10 drops of stevia. Its tastes like limeade

I use stevia as well. I'm not a fan of the liquid form so I buy it in powder from trader joe's. Takes a little while to get used to but it doesn't raise my blood sugars at all so I use it.
