DD has lump near her jaw

And I'm freaking out a little. It's roundish and pretty hard. I'll be taking her to the ped first thing in the morning, but I have to wonder -- is there anything normal it could be? Like a cyst? Trying not to Google....

I have them. They are not life threatening or anything. :-) I seem to remember getting a cluster of them when I was a kid and my dentist gave me a prescription, for what, I don't know.

I think mine could be related to a magnesium deficiency. I have 2 right now.

Has she fallen ever and hit that spot? DD tends to fall on her chin a lot and gets a hard, round "thing" there for quite a while afterward. For her, it does eventually go away, but it takes a while.

Where near her jaw? Do you mean under her jaw, under where the teeth are? There are lymph nodes there that can get swollen. When I had an infected tooth I had a lump on the left side. I didn't feel any tooth pain because the root had died (it was a wisdom tooth that I ended up having extracted).

Let us know what the dr says.

Well, ped says she thinks its a blocked salivary duct, but she's not entirely sure, so is sending us to an ENT today. Sometimes I'm really glad for our ped's walk-in hour from 8-9!

Thanks for the replies.
