Toddler UTI??

I think my 3 year old son has a UTI. He is constantly saying he has to go pee but then very little comes out. And I know its not just a game as if he likes to go potty or something, because he dances around holding himself because he feels the need to go. I think it is a result of him holding it when he doesn't want to stop playing to go to the bathroom. (I did the same thing when i was young and got a horrible UTI) It doesn't seem like he is feeling pain or burning when he goes, he just is going like every hour. Which is not normal for him. So what kind of natural cures are there for a toddler? I don't think he is going to drink cranberry juice. Any alternatives?

can cranberry capsules be emptied into yogurt or something and given to a 3 year old?

CHeck this link. From what I understand, it would be pretty unusual for a 3 y.o. boy to have one. And FWIW, DS was that age when he suddenly was yelping in pain every time he had to pee. So I rushed him to the doctor assuming he had a UTI -- turns out he had an infection under his foreskin. A little Neosporin cleared it up in a few days.

Hope you can figure it out!

thanks for the link. I hope he doesn't have one but better to do something naturally preventative now incase it gets worse. Like I said he holds it in alot, he won't tell me when he has to go, I have to tell him to go when I see him doing the pee-pee dance.

you can get test strips (one brand is Azo) at major drugstores. They test for white blood cells and nitrites (the presence of both indicates UTI). It's about 3 strips for $10. That way you know if that's what you're dealing with.
