Pregnant & carrying twins up the stairs became a safety issue and uncomfortable to babywear

I plan to x-post this in here, baby wearing and family safety forum b/c my question covers all those areas.

I'm 19 weeks pregnant and a safety issue has arisen b/c during the week I would take my dd1 to day camp and she helps me with carrying one of the twins down the stairs but when I come back home I have to carry both twins up the stairs (35 steps) to get into my condo. I almost dropped one of my twins down the stairs and I was literally hyperventilating after the fact and I have talked to my DH and my friends about this. One of my friend suggested that I could wear one of the twins while going up the stairs and I thought it was an excellent idea and I tried wearing one of the girls but I realized that I barely could fit into my Moby wrap (stretchy ones) and it felt too tight right below my waist that it hurts or feels quite uncomfortable.
I have asked my DH to see if he could work from 9 to 6 from Monday until Friday for one week only until my children’s God Mother start living with us on the 25th but my DH said he can’t b/c of a project that has time constraint that he and his team needed to complete.
I don’t have any neighbors that I feel comfortable to ask to help out & I don’t know anyone at day camp to ask for my DD1 to carpool with or have enough $$ to pay for temporary before hour day care at the location where my day camp offers that my DH could drop my dd1 before 6am while he drives to work.
We’re out of ideas. HELP!

I'm seven months pregnant and I can carry my 2.5 year old son in my ergo carrier for BRIEF periods, on my back, by wearing the belt low. It's not comfortable for long stretches and I haven't tried carrying another child ijn front of me while doing it (although I did do that sometimes before I was pregnant.) I personally don't think Mobys are well-suited for carrying older children but love them for young infants.
This might be a good time to get to know at least one of the neighbors better? I would think there would be balance issues going up the steps with two toddlers, no matter how you carry them, or how pregnant a person is, or isn't.

How old are your twins? My 11 months old has taught himself how to go up the stairs while holding my hands. Much easier than carrying him up! He needs a lot of help still, but at least I don't have to lift him. Could one of your twins do that? You could wear the other one in an Ergo if you wanted... At 17 weeks, I can easily wear my son on my back (but im not able to use my Moby anymore either)

One of my twins can walk and I have tried assisting her walking up the stairs but she seemed scared and would want me to pick her up whereas my other twins that hasn't walked yet would climb up the stairs with no fear. I think I will let her climb up the stairs on Monday to see how it goes and of course, I'll be right behind her to ensure her safety.

I can wear my 17 month old on my back in a woven wrap (not a moby) no problem at 18 weeks pregnant. Ties above the bump, so it's not an issue. If you need to be carrying both more often, I'd look into it. Probably too much trouble to get a woven wrap and learn that just for one trip up the stairs though! I think letting one crawl up the stairs is the best suggestion. My kid didn't walk until 13.5 months, but could easily crawl up stairs by 9 months.

I have thought about getting the woven wrap so I could alternate between the one that I have with the woven one.

Climbing up the stair is the most feasible solution for me so far. Thanks!

Wow, I feel for you (and admire you). I am 8 mo prego and have an almost 2yo DD... and going up and down the stairs to our apt is hard enough! Getting twins up them seems like it would be nearly impossible while pregnant. Hang in there and stay safe!
