XPOSTED: Pregnant & carrying twins up the stairs became a safety issue and uncomfortable to babywear

I already x-posted this thread in "I'm pregnant" and "Family Safety" forum b/c this issue covers all these areas.

I'm 19 weeks pregnant and a safety issue has arisen b/c during the week I would take my dd1 to day camp and she helps me with carrying one of the twins down the stairs but when I come back home I have to carry both twins up the stairs (35 steps) to get into my condo. I almost dropped one of my twins down the stairs and I was literally hyperventilating after the fact and I have talked to my DH and my friends about this. One of my friend suggested that I could wear one of the twins while going up the stairs and I thought it was an excellent idea and I tried wearing one of the girls but I realized that I barely could fit into my Moby wrap (stretchy ones) and it felt too tight right below my waist that it hurts or feels quite uncomfortable.
I have asked my DH to see if he could work from 9 to 6 from Monday until Friday for one week only until my children’s God Mother start living with us on the 25th but my DH said he can’t b/c of a project that has time constraint that he and his team needed to complete.
I don’t have any neighbors that I feel comfortable to ask to help out & I don’t know anyone at day camp to ask for my DD1 to carpool with or have enough $$ to pay for temporary before hour day care at the location where my day camp offers that my DH could drop my dd1 before 6am while he drives to work.
We’re out of ideas. HELP!

That sounds so difficult!

Do you have a pouch or ringsling? When I wear my kid in a hip carry, the sling crosses my body above the belly area and doesn't really put any pressure on it. I doubt it would be comfortable for very long, but maybe long enough to get up the stairs?

No, I don't have either one of those but your solution seems feasible. Thanks!

If you literally just need something to get you up the stairs, you could rig something with a piece of cloth. Just something long enough to go from your hip to your opposite shoulder X2, and either firmly sewn or knotted together at that point. (I am not saying that this is the best solution, or that it would be uber-comfy!)

I thought about it but someone suggested in other forum that I could just let one of my twins crawl up the stairs while I am right behind her. I think I'll do just that.

I would think the ring sling, pouch or a rebezzo carry(piece of cloth knotted instead of with rings basically) over each shoulder or at lest one and the other crawling/walking.

I found that a MT was very comfy while I was pregnant. And certainly comfy enough for the time it would take to handle the stairs. A back carry would work great but I even found a fc to be comfy. And it might be worth trying since it is easier than trying to get a squirmy lo on your back while pregnant. The great thing about a MT is that you can tie the waist below your belly if that is more comfy for you.

Here is a pic from when I was about 8.5 mos pregnant wearing our 2 yo in a front carry (Kindercarry MT):
