What will your DC be when he/she grows up?

My 5 yo DS wants to be "the man that digs up all the bones", because he has a hard time saying paleontologist. (Actually, I do too!) He loves nature. Last week he brought in a tiny bird skeleton which is now on display. Sometimes he wants to be an astronaut, because it would be more fun to drive a spaceship than an airplane. And he also wants to be a professional putt-putt golfer.

My 3 yo DD wants to be a cosmologist, because she wants to know why no one knows what caused the big bang. She also wants to be a mommy princess, with a pink sword and a dog.

My 5 yo said when asked: "I want to be a daddy."
So sweet.

He also wants to be a "cake boss". He's very interested in cakes and cake decoration, and has big plans for that.

My other two (7 and 3) have no idea what they want to be.

DD (4) has already chosen her career, and is, in fact, already self-employed as "a money collector." She's always telling DH that he doesn't have to go to work, because she can get us all the money we need--she'll just collect it.

These were the last I heard:

8 year old ds: designer of stickers for dirt bikes

4 year old ds: skateboarder

Cute!

My DS is 3yo, and he wants to be a tuba player.

DD announced this morning she was going to be a a "farmers wife". As far as we can tell it's because she wants to have babies and she likes animals. We aren't quite sure why it has to be a farmer though.

My 5yo says he wants to be a daddy too.

But he wants to be a cartographer - he's always drawing maps. Most of them are maps from our house to McDonald's where Mommy gets coffee, LOL.

My 5 year old wants to be a cowboy and a space ranger. He's been saying cowboy for the last 9 months or so, but space ranger is new (since he saw Toy Story 3 ).

When DS was five, he said he wanted to be a "puzzle tester," someone who tests the jigsaw puzzles at the factory to make sure they have all the pieces.

DD is now adamant that she wants to be a "pizza girl," and have her own restaurant. She told me I could take the orders.

DD is 3 and most of the time will tell you she wants to be a "doctor that fixes knees"--she's seen me go through a few knee surgeries. The rest of the time, she wants to be a musician, though she's up in the air about drummer or guitarist.

dd age 5 wanted to be a family doctor from age 2.5 to 4.5. More recently though she's decided that she wants to be a dance teacher. She also wants to marry her best friend & for them each to have one baby, a boy & a girl

Ds (9): Teacher or lawyer. I'll confess to having planted the lawyer seed, but this is the kid who finds all the loopholes and insists on very exact language. 2 years ago he wanted to be a bus driver. 5 years ago a garbage truck driver.

Dd (6): A doctor, a ballerina, an artist and an author. Some days she adds singer there too. But she's very insistent that she's going to do all of these, not just pick one.

My 4 year old says he wants to "fix bombs", which means bomb squad. I hope more than anything that he gives up that dream.

Im going to answer for my kids, because they really cant answer for themselves yet.

DS1- He LOVES tractors, so I Asked him if he was going to be a farmer. He said yes. I told him it better be an organic farmer.

DS2- Is going to be on American Idol. The attention that kid demands is EXHAUSTING. And hes not even 2 yet. Either that, or hes going to be a politician since he never shuts up. So maybe I can get him to make some incredible changes around here. hehe

DS hasn't said what he wants yet, but one of his soothing mechanisms throughout infancy and into early toddlerhood was to rest his hand in our mouth. We joked that he was going to be a dentist.

Getting ready for his 3-yr checkup, we've been practicing with toy doctor tools. He's very gentle checking my heartbeat, but all too quick looking in ears & mouth

DS has said he wants to be a Marine and if that doesn't work, for whatever reason, then he wants to run a Lego museum. He also wants to have a wife and 3 kids (this was told to me unprovoked)

DD has not totally decided what she wants to do/be when she grows up but if you ask me, its going to have something to do with art... be it a model, a photographer, a graphic artist, whatever... she is happiest when she is doing something artistic.

As a child, ds1 said "a rock star". Now (at 17), he says "an actor". I guess he was on the right track.

DD1 says she wants to be "a person who studies bugs, a midwife and a farmer".

DS2? I don't know. He sometimes says a fireman...I think maybe a wrecking ball...

DD2...too young to tell, but it will probably involve smiling a lot.

My dd wants to be a proctologist. Her grandpa had to go in for a scope and he told her what the doctor was going to do. They researched it and she loved seeing pictures of the insides that proctologists get to see. He also told her they make more money so she is very excited about that aspect of it too. It is rather cute when she tells people what she wants to be!
