how do i make a banner for my etsy store?

Hi, mamas.
I have been wanting to open an etsy store forever. I went ahead and signed up, and the only thing that is stopping me now from opening my store, is making a banner. I have NO IDEA how to do this! I can't pay anyone to do it for me, and need to learn how to do it myself. What program do I need? Can anyone tell me what would be the easiest way to do this? or, just, where to start....

Etsy does have a banner generator. Though they are fairly generic, it is a place to start and get a banner up there.

I have Photoshop and have used that to create my banners over the years.

If you don't have a graphics program like photoshop, some have used powerpoint or microsoft paint to make theirs. Here's a thread on Etsy that might get you started... http://www.etsy.com/forums_thread.ph...5222913&page=1
