Stainless steel cups vs glass

Anyone have stainless steel cups/ tumblers? Do you like them? Do they give water a metallic taste?

We keep breaking glasses, so it's time to replace them with something. The ones we had the most of, were pretty fragile (I broke some just washing them). I'm not sure whether I want to buy som ss cups, or try to find glasses that are more sturdy. The ss cups are more expensive, but maybe not if the glasses keep breaking. lol

Any recommendations for where to buy stainless steel cups?

Our local indian store has them. They're great! They don't give off a metallic taste at all. The only bad thing is that the ones we have are on the small side-- I'm constantly refilling.

Thank you for the post! We CONSTANTLY break glasses! I my stainless thermos -- ZERO metal taste, and when my dc were small we had Oneida ss mugs-- tiny, like 3-4 oz-- again, ZERO bad taste.

I'd love something bigger, but when we bought ss water bottles, the metal taste was horrible (and they were the spendy ones from a healthy- foods place, too!) I gave them to my sister, who doesn't mind the taste, but would LOVE to find some tumblers

(You'd think my DC would stop breaking things as they grow (17 yo, 11yo, 9 yo) but NO-- they break more-- the boys are clumsier growing into their gangley arms, LOL, and the princess lives in the kitchen now, trying out new things, hahaha.)

If you want glasses that are sturdy, go for the short, thick bar glasses. Those are the ones our DD has used since she was about 2 or 3 years old and they've all survived!
