Flouride and autism???

I posted this week about my son's increasing aggressive behavior and crazy tantrums. I think I might have found the link/cause. He had a flouride treatment done at a dentist about a week ago ... several days later his behavior became out of control. Has anyone else had this happen? For about 4 days it was extremely bad, yesterday was ok, today was a lot better.

Does he drink tap water? Do you cook with it? Bath with it? Do you have a special filter on it? I have actually read about flouride causing submissive prisoners in concetration camps, so thats kind of the opposite of the effects your talking about. Not to mention, the flouride treatment is topical, correct? No ingesting of any kind, if I remember correctly.

No -- we NEVER drink tap water (only bottled ... it tastes disgusting). He doesn't bathe everyday because of skin sensitivities, but obviously does take showers every other day or so. I thought I had read somewhere that flouride can cause aggressiveness -- and forgot about it until this week when he has been very unusual. It is put on teeth like toothpaste but does touch the inside of the mouth and knowing him, he probably ingested some.

A number of things increase my DS's issues...allergies, illness, tiredness. So I can believe that anything that puts stress on the body can temporarily make existing issues worse.

Allergies and sensitivities can make behaviors intensify, so its certainly a possibility.
