Caramel?

Just curious how many milk intolerant folks here have issues with caramel coloring or flavoring? DD still is having loose stools once in a while. Since otherwise she seems good I haven't been tracking it on paper - just in my head. I think I'm down to suspecting peanuts (which she eats frequently but came up as a 1+ on IgG testing) or, more likely in my mind, caramel. Or maybe both - the peanuts depending upon quantity. Anyhow, just curious if caramel tends to be an issue for many others.

caramel coloring in Mexican Coke is from corn and cane sugars, so I think caramel coloring is one of those multiple source things. We avoid it either way.

Probably best to avoid regardless of source, since it is only found in processed foods anyway. I was hoping to avoid having to call all the companies to find out the source but I'm sure you are right that there are lots of possibilities.

Thanks Kathy.

wheat and soy are other possibilities for sources.
We avoid it since DS1 (dairy, wheat/gluten, eggs and soy lite) reacts to it... sometimes.

Caramel coloring

I avoid this - every time i used something with caramel coloring in it, my son seemed to get more reflux-y and rashy - so, something about the coloring is "allergic" ....
