Help!! Homeade Wipes Fiasco! - Page 2

Here is the recipe we use:

2 Cups Distilled Water
2 tablespoons almond oil
2 tablespoons baby wash
2 Drops Tea Tree Oil
2 Drops Lavender Oil
2 drops Vitamin E

Mix well and put in a spray bottle. We store the wipes dry, and spray wipe using the spray bottle right before use. Good luck!

yeah, I'd cut out the citrus. We just use water and maybe some lavender or tea tree oil. sometimes vitamin e oil if I have any on hand.

mostly just plain water though... and no diaper put back on right away

I'm just going to butt in and say another vote for plain water. I keep them dry then wet them before wiping. My 2nd gets rashes at the drop of a hat, and cotton + water has never done anything for her. If I need sealant, like if she might be getting a rash, I use olive oil. (I have had to use hard-core rash cream with all the junk in it just once).

Best of luck, mama!

Oh, and BTW, if she has a lot of sores, you can also try the eastern way and clean her bottom over a sink using your hand to splash lukewarm water on it, then pat dry very gently. When mine gets bumps I do that. Then move to the water-wetted wipes after all sores have healed.

We are another water-only family here. We stay rash free that way.

I keep the wipes dry till poop time, then just wet them with warm tap water.
