Washing different types of diapers together?

I've just started cloth diapering about a week ago and have a mix of prefolds and flips. Is it okay to wash the flip stay dry inserts with my prefolds? I guess I'm worried about wear and tear and I've had a hard time figuring out the amount of detergent to use without having to do 4 wash cycles to get the water sud free. The prefolds seem to wash out easier than the flips. Thanks!

We don't have any prefolds but we wash our terry squares with our Flip stay dry inserts. Not sure if you're supposed to or not but we haven't had any problems so far.

I always have washed all my diapers together. It takes me 2 to 3 extra cycles to get the water suds free but in the end it is worth it, or else you will spend a day just rinsing diapers after having to strip them.

I have found Charlies Soap to require the least amount of rinsing and that hot rinses ( I have to run a full hot wash cycle as my machine doesn't have hot rinse as a option) gets the soap out better.

Thank you for the advice! My washer also does not have a hot rinse option so I have to do the extra full hot wash cycles too. So far I do a cold wash cycle with no detergent to rinse out everything. Then I do a hot wash(w/det) cycle followed by another full hot cycle a final cold cycle with an extra rinse. Right now I'm using all free and clear which I know is not ideal and it's super concentrated(small and mighty). I'm going to get some planet detergent because it's sold locally and try that before resorting to something I have to order online.

I've always washed everything together. Pockets, AIOs, and Flips.
