dd2 came home from summer camp today with an awful sunburn on her back, I am looking for something natural that would be soothing.

any suggestions (I don't have any aloe)

ooo no aloe, i dont think its the most natural thing but diaper cream or calamine lotion? I highly recommend searching some nurseries for a aloe plant. Cut a stem off, slice one side and rub the whole leaf over the sunburn, instantly takes the red out and the pain will immediately go. It has to be a real aloe plant to work, I still cant find a good aloe gel alternative. I know all this first hand, i have pink freckled irish skin but am a water baby and love to be in the sun, i know burns!

Oh no!! A vinegar bath or simply putting vinegar on a washcloth and draping it on her back will take the sting out.

I did find some aloe gel in the cupboard ( no ideas how old it is though) and we put some on and she went to sleep fine and no complaints. I will go look for an aloe plant and good to know about the vinegar.
