1 Year Old Not Sleeping?

Out of the blue my wonderful sleeper has become a pretty crappy one... the past couple weeks he has just been waking up earlier and earlier. He used to get up around 630 and now it is more like 5... and he is NOT happy about it. He is grumpy and angry about being awake but won't go back to sleep. Same with naps, he generally still takes his 10-1130 nap but his afternoon one? Yeah right. 8 out of 10 times that is a no go. We don't co-sleep because he refuses (needs his own space apparently) but I have tried bringing him in our bed which categorically does NOT work, and I have no idea what to do. I got spoiled by my first son (now 2) who has slept through the night (7am to 7pm) on his own accord since about 10 months. So... help!

Well, it honestly doesn't sound too bad. My DS went through many different crappy sleep stages and around 12 months it was definitely molar and incisor teeth related. We also dropped to one nap around that time and it helped a bit. He would nap (and still does) from 11am-1pm and when we first transitioned to one nap, he would be in bed asleep by 6:30pm. He eventually grew out of the early starts, the hourly wakings, and the middle of the night parties

Hopefully he outgrows this stage or teeth come in fast! I wouldn't mind him sleeping less if he was happy but he so WANTS to be asleep and then gets angry that he isn't...
