I am 41 weeks today and at 3cm I have had tons of show but nothing seems to be happening had a NST and U/S last week and baby looks to be about 10lbs 4oz.

I was at 42 1/2 weeks before I had my son. Ultrasounds have been proven to be wrong time and time again, your body can birth any size baby that it is growing, it knows what it is doing! Hang in there mama...

Come out baby, come out (clap clap) Come out baby, come out (clap clap)!

Your body knows what it is doing and that baby is going to come out just fine. Do you have some activities you can be working on to keep your mind off of things for a little bit?

Have you tried natural induction methods? Acupressure points, nipple stimulation, sex, enemas, etc.?

Late U/S are notoriously inaccurate--so don't let that worry you. I gave birth vaginally to two nearly 10 pound babies. (9 lb 14 oz and 9 lb. 12 oz.) They actually came out quite easily... fat is squishy.

My dd was born at 42 weeks. Ultrasounds are SO inaccurate at predicting weight that when mothers GUESS their baby's weight it has been proven more accurate than ultrasound or any other method (cool little bit of trivia there). Even if the weight is accurate, your body can manage it.

I went to 41 weeks and one day and I remember exactly how frustrating it was! Just try to keep in mind that that baby is coming out one way or another, and soon. What helped me (and what I think really jumpstarted my labor) was to take a very, very, very long walk. DH and I took a kind of slow, leisurely stroll for about four or five miles (no joke when you're so very pregnant!) and the very next afternoon I went into labor.

Oh yeah, and don't stress about the ultrasound. They really are famously inaccurate. A friend was told her baby was "too big" to birth vaginally at 40 weeks, so they sectioned her. What they told her would be an 11-pound baby weighed in at just under 8 pounds.

Hang in there, mama. You're doing great and will meet your little bean sooner than later.

Another voice saying, yes, u/s are VERY inaccurate. So many stories of 10lb babies turning out to be maybe 7lbs!

I'd be doing all the natural induction stuff, some EPO in the vag, some RRL tea, some sex if you can, all that good stuff And long walks, and then see if there's a project to lose yourself in-- I had just made a list of some last things to get done (bake for the wonderful nurses my OB handpicked to support natural birth, pick up some last things, etc) and of course went into labor then Maybe a bit of gardening (all that squatting, right?) or baking or sewing? Cook up some meals to feed the freezer? Or just run around with your nine!

Good luck!
