Maybe this fits in allergies?
I have seasonal allergies that I treat w/ neti pot, QBC plex, immune system boosters. Sometimes I take a claritin/xyzal/benedryl if it is really bad.
Ds is two. I believe he has seasonal allergies as he seems to be bothered the same time I'm having symptoms. I give him an immune system multi-vitamin (source of life) and try to limit dairy when it is at its worst. For the past month, he has had a pretty bad cough, but only at night. This interrups his sleep (and then mine). He has been to the pedi twice to check for ear infection. He has no infection, just the cough. For two weeks, he has had a runny nose. It runs periodically throughout the day and is usually clear. The pedi suggested I treat with benedryl at night. I'm not comfortable with long term benedryl use in a two year old.
DD, also two, has most of the same symptoms, but has had two ear infections in 3 months. I believe her ear infections are directly related to drainage due to allergies. I am looking into ways to naturally treat ear infections. I had them all the time growing up, I know they can be painful, but not convinced that abx is the best way to treat.
I also give them saline sprays when they are congested. Use theives oil, put lemon, eucalyptus or lavender eo in their showers, rub thyme oil on their feet if I think they have a virus, give Hylands #3 at onset of a cold. What to do? help!
