My ds weaned at 4 years 3 months; it was a gradual process and my the end of it my milk production seemed to be totally done. My son said there was no milk when he nursed and it was painful to nurse because my breasts were dry.
Fast forward 2 months...for the last 2 days my left breast in particular has been very tender and it feels like the mammary glands under my areola are full. Today I actually thought I'd leaked and I haven't done that in almost 4 years!
Has anyone else had this happen? Will the milk just go away/get reabsorbed? I don't want to ask my son to nurse and re-establish nursing; I've told him several times that there isn't any milk and he hasn't asked to nurse for over a month.
Has this happened to anyone else? What happened to resolve the full/tender feeling?
