Possible TMI question: Do you still shave "down there" while PG?

When I was PG with DS1 I was younger (27) and was very good about keeping "neat" and "tidy" down there, but I guess in my 20's I was always neat and tidy down there. With my 2nd PG I was tidy until I couldn't see down there anymore and then let it go. This time I've pretty much let it go since day 1- lol. Luckily DH doesn't seem to care.

Just wondering if I'm the exception or the norm? Do you guys shave down south???

I let it go longer between shavings now that I'm pregnant, but if I really don't feel like doing it or can't reach around the baby belly, DF does it for me

Nope. I am not a bare person anyway, but I normally keep it tidy-- once I can't see down there, I totally let it go. If it bothered my husband, he'd be perfectly welcome to try his hand at it, but he doesn't really care one way or the other. And I doubt it matters to the nurses/OB who will be staring at it in a few weeks-- and wouldn't care if it did, haha.

Ha! I can't see down there... It's been awhile since I could comfortably see what was going on down there. I took a set of buzzers a month or so ago and blindly 'buzzed' everything but that was only because it was starting to be really uncomfortable for in terms of length, etc. I think with my first 3 I didn't get as big and was more able to manicure things, but with my daughter and this one... I just don't feel safe doing what I normally used to do.

I can't stand to let it go, so I shaved all the way through all my pregnancies. I will admit it was harder in the twin pregnancy when I couldn't see and could barely reach. I've been shaving long enough that I can do it with my eyes closed. It may not look perfect, but i'm not doing it for looks.

Yes, right up to the bitter end, and then at about a week post-partum.

^ Same here...

Now don't go tattling to dh...but I always have just used his hair clippers
I like the feeling of keeping neat and trim but without the horrible razor rash that comes with shaving (at least for me anyways).

I did my best throughout my pregnancies too.

I used to only do it once a month anyways. I don't like being bare but I make sure to get rid of it before I've got too much. Plus I have a skin tag (from my PCOS) that I'm always afraid I'm going to cut off.

I hate how it feels, but with my SPD I cannot stretch me legs apart far enough to bend over far enough to reach it well enough to do it by touch (and I havent been able to see it since the first tri!) so Im just dealing with my jungle down there for now.

When we get closer to delivery I WILL shave it one more time though, even if I make DH do it, because I hate hate hate getting blood clots stuck in the hair it is SO icky!

I hate the hair personally as it gets itchy and in the way, so as long as I'm able to, I keep up. DH doesn't care either way.... At the end of DS's pregnancy I wasn't able to do it safely anymore and it bothered me big time, itchy!

I use my DP's electric body hair trimmer + a mirror. I'm too sweaty/dischargy to NOT.. I just feel super unclean when I don't. Luckily my body hair grows really really slow while pregnant so I don't have to do it often!

When I feel like dealing with it, I keep up on it. Preganancy is not one of those times. However, I've realized that keeping the bikini line area up is easier than having to re-shave once it's grown in, and since I can do that ^ too, it's not difficult! If it ever got difficult to do, I would probably just let it go, since I'm the only one who matters. I prefer just keeping it short, which makes it easy to keep up with anyway...

I do. Or, I try to anyway. Mostly because we go to the pool so frequently. Plus both of my pregnancies have been in the summer, the first in Phoenix, this one in Austin, so I am a hot, sweaty pregnant mess. If I had babies in the winter or lived somewhere cooler I wouldn't bother.

I do. Can't say I do it well when the belly gets too big to reach around, though.

I keep it up. I have a landing strip which I keep until I can't see anymore, and then I go totally bare since I can do that without seeing. I don't love being totally bare, but I dislike having a lot of hair more.

i shave once a week or two when pregnant.. and about every 3 days when i'm not.. so i guess i let it go..... to an extent.. i shave mroe frequently closer to the birth though because i cant stand the hair when i'm bleeding.

same here. I had DH help me before I delivered last time
Same with shaving my legs and painting my toes. If I'm gonna be a mess during labor I want some parts to look presentable.

excellent point. why hadn't i thought of that? i was totally neat and tidy in my 20's and now can hardly be bothered. i may do it half-assed in the shower once a month or so if i happen to think about it *and* stumble upon a sharp razor (where i'll proceed to go by feel), but i'm not too concerned. dh doesn't care either--heck, we UC and he sits at the front line where he readies himself to catch (including poo bits and then cleans up the afterbirth afterward), so he's used to dealing w/ my nether region and all it's capacities and evolutions. lol
