Had unpasteurized juice and having problems

Hi mamas,

I had some fresh squeezed lemonade from Chick Fil-a yesterday and 5 minutes later, I started having this pain that feels like a side ache (mild, not sharp) and noticed it when I took a deep breath. At that time it was under my ribs on the left side. As the day wore on, the pain spread down to my hip bone area and over to the right some. I woke in the middle of the night and noticed that now it's also on the right (mid-to bottom) side. It feels very similar to when I had a stomach bug when pregnant with my dd.

I started on activated charcoal in the event it's one of the nasties you can get from unpasteurized juice. Is there anything else I can do?

You would not have gotten anything from it that quickly... Id say the pain is likely unrelated.

Agreed.

I'd say too that is too quickly to develop toxo... If you still feel bad, see your hcp and to make yourself feel better ask for a toxo test.

Whatever you're experiencing has nothing to do with the lemonade. I see from your ticker that you're very early on. Have you had an u/s? My sideline concern if the pain persists would be an ectopic pregnancy, but if the pregnancy has been visualized within the uterus I wouldn't be worrying about that.

I agree with everyone else.

Have you ever had problems with stomach ulcers or reflux? The acid in the lemonade could have triggered it.

it takes about 24 hours for food to work it's way, if it's severe food poisoning, it could be 4-8 hours. Even with lactose intolerance, it took a good 45 minutes before I got sick. Ulcers and reflux - I had both, that would be more burning in left area under ribs, it wouldn't move downward or move around

It could be food, but it could be something from 3-4 days ago, too. Could be IBS, gas, growing pains, gallbladder maybe? all sorts of things. Just keep an watch if it gets worse, or more painful and call a doctor if you need.

honestly, it sounds like worry pains or gas. ((hugs))

Of anything food-related, the only real concern (to me, anyway) is listeria, and that takes anywhere from 2-30 days from exposure to symptoms. And I've never read anything relating listeria and unpasteurized citrus juice, unless cross-contamination was involved, and if that's the case, we should avoid all food prepared in restaurants.

I agree with the previous posters that it's likely unrelated...if you're worried about it, of course check in with your healthcare provider.

Thank you for the replies, mamas! I'm going to call my OB in the am and see if he can figure it out.

However, I finally found my baby with the doppler and he/she has a strong HB and is right where they should be .
