I'm pregnant, about 5 weeks along. Currently we bed share with DD(she's 2) she's been sleeping awful lately, takes forever to go down at night and needless to say I usually don't get very good sleep with her in our room. I'm thinking it may be time to put her in her own room. It would be nice to get some sleep before the new baby comes along and seeing as I'm not very far along that gives me some time to transition DD into her own room. Does anyone have any tips on how we could start working on this?

You know what? We just kind of did it. I got ds' room all ready (painted, set up furniture, made curtains, etc.) & then one night we just started doing bedtime in there. From the start we didn't stress about him staying in there the whole night. So we would start the night with him in his own room & when he woke in the night I would either resettle him in his room or bring him back to ours (depending on how upset he was, or the time or my own mood).

My other concern is that I will not sleep well wanting to go in and check on her several times a night
Our rooms are close thoQuote:

Same here. When it became necessary we put DD in her bed. She often does not sleep in her bed but that's ok. She loves the freedom of mommy/daddy not "knowing" shes up so she goes around her room for awhile until she passes out on the floor. Its too cute.

How old was DD when you put her in her own room?
