Latch issue

DD is 13 mo and I think we have a latch issue. BF her has been such a breeze from day one (this is my second EBF baby so that probably helped ). In the last week though I've had a lot of nipple pain and I'm trying to figure out how to help her latch better. I'm not sure why there's been a change? We have a long BF relationship ahead of us though so I need to get this fixed.

Two questions:

1) Have you had your return of AF yet? I spent months trying to "fix" DS's latch until it occurred to me that my nipples always got sore around the time I ovulate (my cycles were very irregular when they returned so it took awhile to put 2 and 2 together.)

Catch is that it only usually lasts a few days for me. Which leads me to:

2) Is there any chance you might be pregnant again? That too can cause nipple pain.

See Kellymom's Why are my nipples sore after months of pain-free nursing? for more good info/possibilities.

Thanks for the reply. Actually I did just have my first PP AF so I'm confident I'm not pregnant but maybe it's the hormones then. It was a little better today (AF started 7/10). I hadn't thought of that...you are probably right. I'll check out the link. Thanks again!

It's possible. She has 6 so far and it's been awhile since she's gotten any. I don't see any getting ready to poke through but of course that doesn't mean much
