sleep positioner for newborn?

I've seen these things, and initially thought they were just for making sure that baby stayed on his/her back. Now I'm wondering if they help to provide a little bit of comfort for little one. for example, I notice that DD can fall asleep promptly on the changing table, seemingly because there is a little bit of a curved side so she isn't just flat on a flat surface. DD still has a bit of a hard time being flat on her back for sleep, so I'm wondering if perhaps a sleep positioner would help her with this? (she's sleeping in a side-car crib).

I used the sleep positioners to prop my babies on their sides because they all hated to sleep flat on their backs. I know it's not what docs recommend, but I think side sleeping is so much more comfortable for many babies than back sleeping and as long as they are positioned so that they cannot roll onto their stomachs, I felt safe enough with it.

If you do position your baby on his or her side for sleep, make sure you rotate sides each time you put them to bed or they can developing a flattening on one side of the head, though. This happened to my first born because I had no idea and always laid her on her left side. The other two I rotated sides and they had no problem with head flattening.
