Healing from Past Relationships Support Thread

Thread Starter
Hey moderators, let me know if this is inappropriate for the parenting forums and should be in the surviving abuse forum, Im not allowed in yet but Im bursting for support.

So I dont have anyone to really talk to about my past relationship with my son's father. I dont want to tell my family because then it will be "well, why didnt you tell us sooner, or why did you stay in that enviroment?" I dont have friends that could handle the stories, they have never been in any situation like it.

I was hoping there is some other moms here who can participate in lending stories, support or just a listening ear to help us recover and move on. Inspirational quotes, support websites, prayers, etc most welcome for healing.

I wont dive right in to my past situation yet, I just want to see if there is interest in the thread first.

It's hard to recover from an abusive (I'm assuming) relationship. Living in such an environment sucks your soul dry.

Some good resources are:

"Why Does He Do That?" By Lundy Bancroft
http://www.survivormanual.com/ Angela Shelton's website
"Seeking Angela Shelton" a documentary you can watch on hulu

Getting out is the hardest thing... but it is so worth it. I'm glad you are safe now.
