Showing with 2nd pregnancy

I just found out I'm pregnant with my 2nd. I've heard that you may start to show earlier with your 2nd pregnancy. I just wanted to know if this was true. What have you ladies experienced?

It depends on your own body, but yes more women show earlier than those that don't.

Of course... earlier is all relative to when you showed with the first to begin with.

Yeah I've heard its common to show earlier, especially if the pregnancies are close together. My sister-in-law looked as pregnant as I do now at 12 weeks (this is her 6th pregnancy, the last was twins)!

I didn't! I started showing with my first around 10-12 weeks, this one was not showing till about 4 months or so. I'm also 25lbs lighter starting out this pregnancy so that's also weird. I'm tall and have a rather long torso so that may be part of what makes me hide babies easier. I'm measuring fine and all, but who knows...maybe baby is just smaller than my first (who was 9lb 8oz)

I am 8-9weeks preg with #2 and I CANNOT wear any of my regular pants any more! With DD, I think I could squeeze in them until at least 11-12weeks. But then again, this time I already have stretchy maternity pants calling my name...

I felt like I was showing more right at the start of this pregnancy (my second) but it was all just bloat, and I didn't have to wear actual maternity clothes until mid-late second trimester again. I do think that the general rule is that you start to show sooner, especially if the pregnancies are closer together.

I'm currently at 20 weeks with baby no. 2.....

With no. 1, I didn't wear maternity clothes until late 2nd trimester, and few dared to ask my due date until my third.

With no. 2, I needed maternity clothes almost immediately, and already have had strangers come up and inquire about my belly.

For reference, I'm 5'8", 130 lbs, and only gained 10 lbs. with DD. I've only lost weight with this pregnancy, haven't gained yet, and there is still that big a difference regarding my preggo belly!

That may be contributing to my size this time- although I lost all the weight I gained immediately after DD was born, I became pregnant again with #2 when DD was only 6 months.

Yes, I started to show much sooner with this second pregnancy. I started to show around 15 weeks with the first, and probably closer to 11-12 with this one. I'm a big gainer with pregnancy and while my weight gain is near identical both times, I put on the pounds faster this time around (but then slowed down around 25 weeks)

not true for me at all. First one I gained 10-12 pounds by 12 weeks and was in maternity clothes before then, I had people asking before I was out of my first trimester. This time I am 15 weeks and no one can tell I am pregnant. I gained 1 pound, and I am wearing all my normal clothes.

It's not a fact, it depends on how you carry, maybe if you are sick. And I am measuring ahead with this one, and with DD I was measure behind!

With DD I was showing by about 15 weeks, with this one I am currently 8 weeks and my shape is quickly changing...

With #1 I started showing around 16 or so weeks. With #2 I am 20 pounds lighter, and can still, at 16 weeks, wear regular pants, but I started showing at 9 weeks in a bathing suit or anything form-fitting, and needed to wear maternity tops for their longer length early.

I had my daughters 15 months apart and was pretty well hiding being pregnant with the first until about 6 months (though I had weight gain), but I will always remember walking around a restaurant to entertain #1 when I was under 3 months pregnant with #2, and the very nice waitresses folding napkins asked me if I was pregnant again! Nobody else said anything until I was maybe a month further along, but everyone was so surprised at how much further along I looked than I actually was. Now I am somewhere around 6 weeks and not able to wear my jeans, but I think it is bloating.

With DS I didn't start showing until 5 or 6 months. I was confortably wearing my own clothes well into the 2nd trimester.

I'm currently 12 weeks and not showing at all. I'm a little bloated and my boobs practically need their own zip code so I've been wearing the Old Navy maternity tanks as they fit nice and long. My own tops are mostly too tight or show more cleavage than I'm comfortable with.

It wasn't true for me. I didn't show with either of my previous pregnancies until 4-5 months. I'm 10 weeks now with my third and don't even have a bump yet.
I didn't *really* start to show with my first until I was 16-17 weeks.

This time, I'm just over 13 weeks, and definitely have a noticeable bump.

I'm 5'3" and about 105 before getting pregnant, and I carry low, so not sure how pregnant I look to strangers who don't know me or my body, but to people in my life, I've been told that I look obviously pregnant to them.

I don't remember the exact dates but I definitely started showing way sooner with #2 than with #1.
#1 - I started showing around 6 months
#2 - I started showing around 5 months
#3 - I started showing around 5 months
#4 - I am not even 10 weeks and have a tiny beer gut.

I felt comfortable not telling anyone at work until I was around 15 weeks with my first. That's when I thought I was showing, though most others didn't see it. This time I spilled the beans at 11 weeks because I was outgrowing my regular clothes. It's a good thing, because by 12 weeks I was looking quite pregnant. I'm fairly small when not pregnant, so that makes a difference, I suppose.

I was showing almost as soon as I knew I was pregnant with my second. My first and second had the exact same due date, one year apart, but my second was born 11.5mo after my first. With that pregnancy and every subsequent one, I started showing REALLY EARLY but I didn't grow much for several weeks.
